Day 1 · Settle into Trabzon
Keep arrival day close to your accommodation. A short city walk and an unhurried meal are enough when the flight and transfer have already used much of the day. Confirm the next morning’s pickup and avoid a late finish before an early excursion.
Choose your hotel for the shape of your trip. A city base can simplify repeated departures; a countryside stay may be more appealing if the accommodation itself is part of the experience. Compare the total transport involved and ask about stairs, parking and the room’s actual surroundings.
Day 2 · Make Uzungöl the main destination
Uzungöl is in the Çaykara area of Trabzon province. GoTürkiye describes a lake-and-village destination surrounded by mountain scenery, with accommodation and places to eat. Give it enough time to be more than a brief roadside photograph.
Our recommendation is to keep the list of stops short, take a walk suited to conditions and leave time for lunch. Optional highland detours should depend on the roads, weather and your group’s interests. An attractive social-media viewpoint is not a reason to accept an unsuitable route.
Day 3 · Choose Sümela or another focused outing
GoTürkiye groups Sümela and the Altındere area separately from its Uzungöl route. Treat them as distinct excursions when planning a relaxed stay. Ask for a realistic travel outline rather than assuming two headline attractions can be combined comfortably in one day.
If heritage interests you, read our Sümela Monastery guide. If your group prefers nature with less walking, ask for a suitable alternative. The important point is to choose one main purpose for the day, then add only what comfortably fits around it.
Day 4 · Protect your departure
Keep the final day light unless your flight leaves late enough for a clearly defined local activity. Allow for luggage, the transfer and airport procedures. Avoid a distant mountain outing that relies on every connection running exactly as hoped.
For a three-day stay, choose between the two main excursions if flight times are tight. An extra calendar day only helps when it creates usable hours. Send both arrival and departure times with your enquiry so the itinerary can reflect the time you actually have.
Pack for changing conditions
Carry a layer and rain protection, and choose footwear for the walking you intend to do. Build flexibility into the order of outings. The operator should explain what can change, which activities are optional and how changes affect the price.
For a family or private group, agree a comfortable daily travel limit and regular breaks. Ask whether lunch, guiding, admissions and any local transfers are included. These practical details are what turn an appealing list of places into a trip that works for everyone.
